Finding the Right Online Sportsbook

Once you’ve decided to start betting on sports, you need to take some time to choose the right online sportsbooks to use. Yes, we mean more than one. Each book posts its own betting lines; they are often the same as the lines set by Las Vegas Sports Consultants, but not always. Sometimes a book will have a line that is a half-point more to your liking, or carries less juice. Having more than one account let’s you do some comparison shopping – it all adds up, just like it does at the grocery store.

But how do you go about finding the right bookies? Our sportsbook review section is a great place to start. We have an expanding library of reviews covering the most respected books in the online gaming industry. You’ll also find plenty of feedback, both positive and negative, simply by doing an Internet search on a specific company. The most recommended books have the best customer response – just make sure it’s coming from several sources and not just one glowing review.

Your list of potential books will naturally be limited to those who will serve your location. Because of anti-gambling measures in the United States, some books choose not to do business with American customers. Others will not accept Canadian clients, or those from European countries like Germany and France where gambling isn’t as widely accepted as it is in England.

Any book you choose should have an immaculate financial rating. Like any other business, there are shady characters out there who will steal your money. A reputable bookie will pay out your winnings with minimal delay – a time window of 24 hours is reasonable – and will allow you to withdraw money from your account without interference.

Every book should also give you excellent customer service. Since their offices are generally located in countries like Costa Rica and Jamaica, you may find the operators difficult to understand at times. However, they should always be courteous, competent and available 24/7. The layout of the company’s website should be simple to navigate, as well.

Otherwise, you’ll find some books specialize in certain areas, like handling larger accounts, or providing lines for global sports like cricket and Aussie rules football. Take the time to review your options, and pick the books that suit your specific needs. Then you can sit back and enjoy those tasty sign-up bonuses.
