Sports Betting:  Bankroll Management

Many sports bettors are tempted to put a lot of money down on a game, especially if you are winning.  A big problem for many sports bettors is betting too much per game.  Understanding bankroll management is a key if you want to be successful.  Would you risk 25% of your entire life saving if you knew that you had a chance of losing it?  Of course you would not.  It may be relatively boring to put a small amount on games, but you have to work within your bankroll.  Sports betting can be very streaky and there are many good and bad streaks.  It is inevitable if you do it for a long period of time.  If you want to keep yourself in the game and be successful then follow the proper bankroll management that I am about to discuss.

The question that many people most often ask is how much should I be betting per game?  The answer is that it depends on how big your bankroll is.  It is important to make sure that you stick a set of rules.  There is one major rule, that is actually quite simple whether you are a $10 bettor, or a $100 bettor.  Bet around 2-3% of your bankroll on any game, and never bet more than 5% of your bankroll on any game, not matter how confident you are.  If you are not to sure about a game, then bet 1% of your bankroll.  On the other hand if you are very confident then go ahead and bet around 3-5%.  There are no such things as “locks” in sports betting.  Anything can happen and any team can lose on a given day.  Come up with a system and rate you picks as 1-5 units.  Each unit represents a percent and how confident you are about each pick.

Can you make money using this strategy?  The answer is absolutely.  This system is made to make money and without it you will lose money.  All you have to do to make a profit is have a winning percentage of about 54-58%.  So if you are serious about sports betting and think you have what it takes to be successful, then use this strategy.
