Bet Until : 17:00 - 14th May 2008 Competitor PriceUnit Stake End Of May 2057 15.00 End Of May 2017 51.00 End Of May 2012 201.00 If it does happen it will be only close to the end of 2057 lol how many people alive today (legal age of 18 to bet) will be alive then lol Oh yeah and u can't bet on it NOT happening before 2057 Like free money to the book.

you bet $1000 on not happening before 2057, so payout would be 2058, 50 years form now, at an interest rate of 2% the money doubles aroudn every 25 years, so you'd have $4000 in 2058...
so even if they become independent in 2057, the odds are VERY VERY Sick
