NZTAB weekly review July 29

They didn't have one last week.....

NZTAB is a government run sports and racing Bookmaker.com/?cmpid=4437" target="_blank">Bookmaker here in NZ. They have a monopoly on the market, which is unlike Australia where it is legal to set up shop.

Each week they give a review of where some of the bigger money went, this week :

A mixed bag for the bigger punters last week with major bets coming through on baseball, rugby league, netball and rugby.

Lets start by saying that the Wallabies victory over the All Blacks was a big winner on the sportsdesk so while the rugby public of New Zealand were looking for heads the TAB boys were quietly celebrating. The bets on the All Blacks weren't huge but they contribute to the good evening : $15,000 at $1.60, $12,000 at $1.55 were the biggest but the Wallabies werent neglected : $10,000 at $1.80 on Australia getting a 4 and a half point start.

Baseball has been attracting significant money in recent times and last week we took a wining $50,000 wager at $1.57 on the LA Angels beating Cleveland. However there were a couple of bets that didn't go as well : $25,000 at $1.18 on Boston beating the Angels and $20,000 at $1.55 on the NY Mets beating Philadelphia. Also in baseball : LA Angels - Boston to produce 9 runs or more ( loser ) and Florida - Atlanta to produce 9 runs or less ( winner ).

Generally speaking the rugby league investors had a good week. There were winning bets of : $50,000 at $1.14, two lots of $15,000 at $1.40 on Newcastle to beat Souths, $11,000 at $1.43 on the Broncos to beat the Sharks and a losing bet of $8,500 at $2.10 on the Tigers to beat Penrith.

A couple of other significant wining bets : $20,000 at $1.48 on the Waikato/ BOP magic to beat the Thunderbirds and $11,000 at $1.50 on London Legend winning the Storer FFA.
