here is the deal. my local has the following lines posted:

Aug 14 - 10:48 PM 2008 BEIJING - SWIMMING - MEN
159 200M INDIVIDUAL MEDLEY GOLD MEDAL AND WORLD RECORD
160 PHELPS MUST START FOR ACTION
161 PHELPS, MICHAEL (USA) +800
162 ANY OTHER SWIMMER +800
163 PHELPS WILL BREAK THE WORLD RECORD -300
164 PHELPS WILL NOT BREAK THE WORLD RECORD +200

What would you do? It might be a mistake, but if so it would be +900 or +1000 (as opposed to -900 or -1000) since there would be no juice otherwise.

What would you say is the best way to make money on this line? If it was a bad line, they would cancel that play. Here is my take:
I would play it so that if its not cancelled i bank, and if it is i can minimize my losses.

10* Phelps +800
2.5* Field

what do you think?

for what is worth, same local gave me a strange line in womens volleyball (dont even remember what sport it was, i played it blind).

brasil -300 +6.5 -125
Russia +210

so i took brasil +6.5 -125 and russia +210. good chance of hitting both sides, missed by 0.5 points. still made cash since russia won by 7pts.

so this guy seems to make mistakes, and i would have thought he would have cancelled this play but he didnt.

Must be a mistake...Phelps has been arnd -650 to -900 range in most events.
