September POD Rule Changes and Feedback

Here are the changes I plan to make for the September POD. I am willing to listen to feedback, however don’t be insulted if it’s not taken in to consideration.

MAJOR CHANGES TO RULES – READ BELOW

NO BEST BETS THIS MONTH. ALL PICKS 1 UNIT

In order to play in this contest - YOU MUST have an account with BETJAMAICA.COM who will be sponsoring the contest. If you do not have an account - click here to open one.

1. Starts on the 1st of the month

2. We will post a thread every morning in this section. Anyone can start the POD thread.

3. You post your best pick of the day. Max of one per day.

4. You must post your line at the time of your post. Please include the full line and make sure it's current. Example - Florida/Philadelphia over 10 +100

5. You must post the game clearly or it will not count. If you are picking a team that can be multiple sports, specify the sport. Please avoid abbreviations and make it as simple and clear as possible.

6. You may use any sport that any legitimate sports book offers a line on. It must be available at a regular, legitimate book. In case of a different time zone the game must be played the day of the POD thread. The game can not be a mistake line by an individual book.

7. All picks are allowed as long as odds are +300/-200

8. NO PARLAYS, NO HORSE RACING, NO LIVE BETTING (1/2 odds, etc on NFL, etc offered at all books are allowed)

9. All picks will be 1 unit.

10. *** NO BEST BETS THIS MONTH

11. Once a pick is entered - IT CAN NOT BE CHANGED, modified or deleted. In the case of a rainout or cancellation you can repost a pick.

12. Minimum of 20 picks will be required for prizes.

13. You can play any time of the day as long as it's before a game starts.

14. SNOWMAN (thanks snowman) will post standings and try to have them done daily. If you notice a mistake, please post the problem in the current standing thread. Please be specific as possible when explaining the mistake.

So the biggest dog you can play (or get credit for) is +300?

Meaning if you play a +500 dog and it hits, you're getting +300?

2nd half odds or 1st quarter odds in NFL, CFB would be the example of what I meant

everything sounds good but how about letting the limit on favs be -300 due to the fact that alot of nfl ncaa and mlb games are in the -200 to -300 limit for moneylines-just a suggestion-thanx

I love the new rules. It would not bother me to allow favs go up to -300. It is amazing how often those lose. One or two losses can kill a weeks worth of winners..that is a risk you take when playing big favs. I love the no best bet and limit the dog to +300.

Wouldn't mind seeing -300 too just for baseball though. Up to you jack, just my feedback.

Jack, I know we originally chatted about the reduction of the ML and I think it's a great change.

I'll throw my vote in for one best bet. Otherwise, think the rule changes are right on.

Couldn't agree with you more, Jack. It's pretty silly when people are winning this with .500 records. A true handicapping contest should not favor those who get lucky with two or three bets. it should be about those who stand the test of time with a high percentage of wins over a one-month period. I, for one, won't be missing any picks on Bulgarian women's handball.
