Who do people buy picks?

It seems to me that all of the picks people buy are put up on this site. So y would i ever go and purchase picks from anyone when i can get them for free here?

Some people would rather risk money on a so called "professional" handicapper's pick rather than have the balls to make the pick themselves. Some of these "professionals" claim to pick winners at a 65-70% rate so you bet with them on that notion. But that takes the fun out of it for me.

How does an individual become a professional handicapper? is there a school lol? Or just anyone can say they are?

In that case im a professional handicapper so just send your money over i pick 86.6 winners lol... If these so called pro's were so good at pickin winners why wouldnt they just bet the games on there own and just cash in?

I would say 99.9% of people who buy picks are in their first year of betting and have yet to develop a style of their own and have lost a bit of cash.

I couldn't agree more.

My advice to someone new to handicapping would be to look at the entire board in all sports that you enjoy to see if something stands out to you. It's usually your first instinct that makes the right pick.

It's when you start questioning that and coming up with your "well-thought out" methods of why Team X can beat Team Y by Z margin when you start seeing your bankroll deteriorate on the regular.
