AL Only leagues

ANyone else do AL only leagues?? Ive been doing fantasy baseball for about 10 years and have ALWAYS been in AL only being a Red Sox fan and therefore AL fan. Just started playing in the Cmall league last year which is mixed league and very different draft wise obv. BUt I was wondering if anyone follow the AL or drafts AL teams has their top 10 pick opinions..

This obv isnt my final since we im thinking quick and havent really started getting ready for my drafts which are 2-3 weeks away, but I figured Id throw mine out there...

1-Arod
2-CC
3-Texiera
4-M Cabrera
5-F Hernandez
6-Verlander
7-Mauer
8-M Cabrera
9-Greinke
10-Lester/Beckett/Longoria

Like I said, nothing in stone, but what I thought of quickly and moreso to get opinions of other AL'ers...

Jack they are fun, or as you are an NL fan, Im sure an NL only would be fun. They are very tough, unlike my 1st mixed league last year, its hard to find talent after the draft. You really need to prep for the draft and know every teams 5th starters/set up men etc, because they are drafted. You have a lot of mediocre players on your bench only having half of MLB. But if you know your league and follow baseball, you can do fine.

As far as Mauer, alot of people dont take C's in the 1st round, I usually dont til mid rounds and grab an OK catcher, esp not in mixed leagues, but I didnt really rate them exact, just tossing them out.

Ive been in the same A.l & N.l since 1995 not a fan of mixed leagues. All i can tell you is never take a pitcher in the first 3-4 rds the next tier will be there in the middle rds and its not that big of a dropoff. Go for players who put up 4 cats Ive been constanly in the $$$ every year using this formula pitchers are too risky and they only pitch every 5 days.

I do an AL only auction draft league every year for the last 7. Its so awesome in my opinion. Mixed leagues are fun but in AL or NL only leagues, what makes the real difference is the sleepers a guy can find.

As for your rankings. I can't rank the NYY guys 1,2,3.

I would rank ARod 1 and Tex 2 but Miggy should be ahead of Sabathia. In AL only leagues really SP's should not be in the top 5 in money spent. PErsonal top 10 would be

1. Arod
2. Tex
3. Miguel Cabrera
4. Joe Mauer
5. Evan Longoria
6. CC Sabathia
7. F. Hernandez
8. Greinke
9. Kinsler/Crawford (4-5 tool guys are hard to find)
10. Verlander
