Grade my Draft

I had the #2 pick in my first ever keeper league. 14 team head 2 head league. What do you think, my pitching is weakkkkkk I know that. Figured I got enough depth and youth in the OF that I can move someone later for a good arm. How do you think I did?

R1 Chase Utley
R2 Victor Martinez
R3 Kevin Youkillis
R4 Curtis Granderson
R5 Josh Hamilton
R6 Shane Victorino
R7 Manny Ramirez
R8 Brian Wilson
R9 Elvis Andrus
R10 David Ortiz
R11 Edwin Jackson
R12 Erik Bedard
R13 Kevin Slowey
R14 JA Happ
R15 Scott Kazmir
R16 Dice-K
R17 Joba Chamberlain (figures they move him to the pen today)
R18 Clinton Barmes
R19 Edison Volquez (I know hes hurt who knows how hes going to be but you cant keep players you dont draft and hes a stud alot of value with him in keeper leagues drafting this late, also moved him to my DL spot)
R20 Buster Posey
R21 Chris Davis
R22 Dexter Fowler

Free Agent: Added Brad Penny after moving Volquez to DL

Are you a Red Sox fan?

For a 14 team league, I like some of your hitters. I'm not really high on Josh Hamilton, but we'll see what he does. Manny is declining, but still should put up decent numbers. You have to hope Papi turns it around.

You are VERY weak at pitching. Edwin Jackson as your first pitcher is not a good selection. Bedard will give you a couple of starts and will be on the DL most of the season. The same can be said for Kazmir (I think got hurt today) and Dice K.

I'd keep an eye out for any pitchers who look good in the beginning of the season. There are also pitchers who nobody drafts, but step up.

I am a Sox fan, and unfortunately I felt like a homer in the draft because everytime it came around to me the best availables were Sox players. I'm thinking my lineup will be 1 or 2 in the league if either Hamilton or Manny produces. Already looking to move an OF for a pitcher, hopefully can get something more reliable than what I have.

I'm a Sox fan, so no problem with that

However, I try not to have as many players from my favorite team because every at bat or pitch, your emotions will get the best of you.

Fantasy baseball can be won with pickups throughout the season. Jump on the good ones early in the season.

For 14 Teams I'll give you a B- Grade, you have no pitching but you'll be able to fix that

Yeah alot of pitchers went earlier than i thought they would so i was stuck with either reaching to grab some pitchers earlier than I would have liked or wait, I waited

Ur phucked. Sure you have some hitting but when ur two best pitchers are Volquez and Bedard both of whom are on the DL no way you can be competitive. Happ is garbage, Jackson isnt very good either and Kazmir is a shell of what he was a couple of years ago. Slowey is ur best pitcher and that cant be good. You started making bad picks after the 5th round and never recovered.

You better hope Bedard gets back quick and Dice K is 100% and pitches like he did 2 years ago and if that happens you might be OK.

D+ if you ask me but then again preseason rankings mean nothing but on paper this team looks weak. GL

Happ is NOT garbage, especially as the #4 in his rotation, but try again.
Slowey is a consistent pitcher, and much better than people give him credit for.
GOD FORBID Bedard and Kazmir stay healthy, and then you guys will have nothing to say.

CCU, I'll give you overall a B grade simply because you lack an "ace" pitcher. But like walk said, these things are won with pickups throughout the season. Just keep an eye on some guys and snatch 'em first. Your hitting should make you a competitive team.
