Yahoo! Cash League Draft

I started this league up with only 4 of us in 2008, and last year we got up to 10. Still at 10 this year, and the draft was last night. I had to work (story of my life) so I had the GF do the drafting for me and I called with some input or "requests" if you will. Here's how she did:

1. (9) Evan Longoria
2. (12) Joe Mauer
3. (29) Jonathan Broxton
4. (32) Jonathan Papelbon
5. (49) Mark Reynolds
6. (52) Adam Lind
7. (69) John Lackey
8. (72) Andre Ethier
9. (89) Ben Sheets
10. (92) Cole Hamels
11. (109) Shaun Marcum
12. (112) Elvis Andrus
13. (129) Michael Cuddyer
14. (132) Ian Stewart
15. (149) Neftali Feliz
16. (152) Jeff Niemann
17. (169) Adam Jones
18. (172) Nate McLouth
19. (189) David Price
20. (192) Max Scherzer
21. (209) Billy Wagner
22. (212) Carlos González
23. (229) Howie Kendrick
24. (232) Nolan Reimold
25. (249) Geovany Soto

Am I convinced I'm gonna win? No. But I had a much better team than this last year and I didn't, so really, who knows? Either way, I'm not unhappy with the job she did. Gonna drop Soto & Reimold for sure. May pick up Swisher or a backup catcher for offdays. Anyways, how bad is this team, really? I don't think it's that bad. Oh, and I'm not concerned about where I drafted a guy or if I took something too early, too late, etc. I don't read the books, I don't care about that crap. I just took what I wanted out of what was available when it was my pick. Or in this case, she took what she could. Thumbs up to the GF!

You/she have a good team. I do not know if you are in a custom league or a 5x5. But you have strengths. You have 2 of the best closers. The only way to beat a Papelbon/Broxton pairing is to have 3 or 4 RP positions. You have a solid pitching staff. Maybe not Sheets. But Lackey, Hamels, Feliz, Neimann, Max... Price. Probably could pick up another SP; depending on who is out there. Pick up Hughes, Chapman, or another rookie. You have 3rd covered well. 2nd with Howie, SS Elvis. You have a deep OF with maybe a few SBs. Do not really see a 1B.

Overall a fair team. Could do worse.

My thoughts too. I could've done a LOT worse. There's still some decent SPs available. My 1B is Reynolds. League is pretty custom with all sorts of categories. I need to pick up a RP for Holds. Reynolds will kill me for K's on the hitters, but it was a risk as I wanted the HRs lol
