This coming sunday, where can we find a line?

Probably one of the 3 biggest sporting events in the state of Iowa each year, along with the High School State Wrestling Tournament at #1, and the Iowa/Iowa State football game at #2


Second-Ranked Iowa State Plays Host to No. 1 Iowa


AMES, Iowa - The No. 2-ranked Iowa State wrestling team faces off against top-ranked Iowa Sunday at 6 p.m. in Hilton Coliseum. The matchup is the 75th edition in one of wrestling's most-storied rivalries.
Cyclone faithful are encouraged to Color it Cardinal for the matchup. The month of December has been deemed Color it Cardinal month by the Iowa State Athletics Department and the Licensing Resource Group, who jointly launched the “ONE” Campaign. Wear ONE color, Cyclone fans.
Adult tickets are $15 and youth tickets are $10. Tickets can be purchased from the ISU Athletics Ticket Office online by clicking here or by calling 888-478-2925 (294-1816 in central Iowa). Purchases can also be made at the ticket office (located at Jack Trice Stadium) or at Ticketmaster retail locations, which include select Hy-Vee and Younkers stores. The seating diagram for the event can be viewed here.
ISU students must have a reserved ticket and will be required to show their ISU Card for admittance. Lil Clone Club members must have a reserved ticket and show their 2009-10 membership card.
The Hilton Coliseum ticket office will open at 4 p.m. for the next event in the Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk series. Doors will open at 5 p.m.

ISU head coach Kevin Jackson will take part in 1460 KXNO's ISU-Iowa wrestling coverage Saturday. The Cyclone leader can be heard on the Takedown Radio segment from 9-11 a.m.
Cyclone Notebook
• Iowa State will meet with intrastate rival Iowa for the 75th meeting between the two tradition-rich wrestling programs.
• The dual will be the sixth event in the sixth annual Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk Series. ISU currently leads the Cy-Hawk series, 6-5.
• ISU is 1-0 in the 2009-10 dual season with the lone victory coming Nov. 12 in Hilton Coliseum over South Dakota State by a score of 43-3.
• ISU is currently ranked 2/2 in the Intermat and W.I.N. Magazine polls, respectively.
• The Cyclones are coming off a third-place showing at last year’s NCAA Championships.
• Iowa State returns four grapplers who earned All-America honors in at the 2009 NCAA Championships: Nick Gallick (141), Jon Reader (165), Jake Varner (197) and David Zabriskie (HWT). ISU 133-pounder Nick Fanthorpe was an All-American in 2008.
• Iowa State’s five returning All-Americans sport a combined record of 21-0 thus far in their 2009-10 campaigns.
• ISU won a third-straight Big 12 Conference Wrestling Championship last season. The Cyclones had never won a consecutive trio of league titles. Iowa State tied for first with Nebraska with 70 points. Nick Fanthorpe (133) and David Zabriskie (HWT) notched their second conference individual titles.
Iowa State vs. Iowa Series Notes
• Iowa leads in the all-time series against Iowa State, 56-16-2.
• The Cyclones’ last victory in the series came in Iowa City, Iowa in Carver-Hawkeye Arena Dec. 4, 2004, 19-16. Iowa has taken the last four ISU-Iowa duals.
• Last season, the Cyclones won four matches to Iowa’s six in a 20-15 defeat at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Four of the ISU losses were decided by two points or less.
Scouting Iowa
• The Hawkeyes are 7-0 in dual action in the 2009-10 season. Iowa went 5-0 with four shutouts in the Iowa City Duals event.
• Iowa defeated Rutgers and Bucknell Nov. 27 in dual action in Lewisburg, Pa., by scores 33-9 and 29-7, respectively.
• Iowa returns seven All-Americans. Daniel Dennis (133), Brent Metcalf (149), Ryan Morningstar (165), Phillip Keddy (184) and Dan Erekson (HWT) earned All-America honors at the 2009 NCAA Championships. Joe Slaton (133) and Jay Borschel (174) took the honors in 2008.
• Hawk wrestlers Matt McDonough, Dennis, Dan LeClere, Metcalf, Borschel and Chad Beatty sport identical 7-0 records so far in the 2009-10 season.
Reader and Varner Victorious at All-Star Classic
• Three-time NCAA finalist Jake Varner and two-time All-America honoree Jon Reader won their respective matches at the 44th annual edition of the NWCA All-Star Classic on Cal State-Fullerton’s campus.
• Reader scored a bonus-point victory over Bucknell’s Andy Rendos, 11-2 at 165 pounds. The ISU junior decisioned Rendos at both the 2008 and 2009 NCAA Championships.
• Top-ranked Varner wrestled to his third career victory at the All-Star event. The ISU senior 197-pounder controlled Nebraska’s Craig Brester by decision, 5-3.
• ISU’s David Zabriskie fell at heavyweight to Cal State-Bakersfield’s Mitch Montiero, 6-3.
• Iowa State has had 68 participants in the NWCA All-Star Classic since its inception in 1967. The total ranks third behind Oklahoma State (81) and Iowa (74).

From what i remember this year sanderson has them in the top 20. I know lehigh beat them who are very good every year. Wrestling is very big in pa and i dont think they have been getting the talent they shouldve been getting. Danderson is a big name and he will have psu in the top 5 in the next year or 2

I think college has 10 weight classes so max score is 60. My guess would be Iowa State -3, final score like 20-16 isu
