$175 for electric bill???

I was charged $175 for past months electric bill, has anyone ever gotten one this big. I live with my girl in a one bedroom, bathroom, living room and kitchen. No A.C. have a window fan 2 TV's a computer and an electric stove.

Can this possible be right, I usually fall a sleep to the TV but nothing else. I think if both TV's ran for 24-7 for 30 days it would not create a bill like this..

before we moved in we check what the former tenant paid in monthly bills and it was from the range of $28-$45 we normally pay around $65 even that seems high could there be some gauging going on or what?????

Not neccessarily. Are you playing for all your utilities??
Track all your appliances that use electric. Especially your computer..

You have an electric range? You cook at home a lot? Is your water heater electric?? U take showers for an hour. LOL

They might have made a mistake, but you can have them come out and do another reading. What state are we talking about?

$300 a month here in California. Lowest we have had was $175 when the temps are real mild and I dont have to run the pump on the pool as much.

its not about how much you paid but how it compared to the past bills. In a place that small, there should never be that much difference in the bill from month to month

U answered your own question, they shafted you.

Sometimes when they give me a estimate reading it can be way more, but then they deduct it off the price of the actual reading a month later.
