Anyone see any good picks below from pinny ? I was thinking of dropping 1 unit across all selections except the real high odds and the favs. All it takes is a couple of upsets and it will be + money. Last year there were some upsets.

While I agree that this will be Marty's year for Oscar, and that The Departed is by far the best picture, there are some decent plays for money here.

Remember, this is the Hollywood Foreign Press, who sometimes have a different perspective than the Academy voters. Look for things that were big globally, and not necessarily in the U.S.

Not saying these are locks, but you are looking for a couple of good risks for the price...

best risk: Babel for Picture, Drama.

best long shot: DiCaprio for Blood Diamond - this is big globally.

also good long shots: Eastwood for Iwo Jima, Inarittu for Babel
