Never too early to start thinking about what you are going to change/do for yourself or others in 2011......

Ideas? Mind made up?

New years resolutions are stupid IMO, if you're going to change something you have to just do it. Jack gl with quitting smoking, but if you wait for a new years resolution it probably won't work. I quit 2x, last time was 11 years ago,you have to want it and you have to do it cold turkey. Tried the new years resolution a couple of times over the years and it never worked.

I've tried other times with no success.

Makes me feel good to do these NY resolutions only to fail but at least I tried. I try and get it in my head and think about it for weeks.

Not stupid at all. The Canadian Government has forced food companies about a month ago, restaurants, etc. to use 25% less salt on food and as a preservative to slow down the heart attack increase as it creates weight gain and obesity.

Smoking: My mom is 80, dad 78. They both smoked 1.5-2 packs a day for 40 years. Dad quit after a minor heart attack in his mid-60's, mom quit the day my 1st son was born--12.5 yrs ago. SO, JACK, IT CAN BE DONE.

Salt: Back to dad, he has congestive heart failure...booze/salt/other shit. Doc said one of the biggest things he had to quit was salt (he quit drinking a long time ago but he did it hard when he did it). Doc told stories, I listened. Used to pour salt on everything...only put salt on steak now. Shit is bad for ya.

More salt, no I'm joking. No pasta it is for me, act like a celiac, I need to lose 5-8 pounds and that's always the easiest way I've found (plus exercise).

Getting back into the gym, more for the cardio. Probably won't start until February since I can't stand all of the Jan 1 to Jan 30 people. First of the year is the worst time to start going to the gym.

If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you're going to have something special.” ---Jim Valvano
