Angry 3rd day for betonsports and counting

48 hours has now turned into 72 at what point should i write off the $18,000 that is just lingering in mid air with no information. if they are still closed at 6pm today they will be closed at least till monday. Once again I will say there is no safe place for your money overseas. I would strongly advise against sending your hard earned money overseas where it clearly is'nt safe.

sincerely,
ticked off

I respectfully disagree. From what I have heard, you will probably be able to access your account later today.

Another note - I think most people are assuming BOS has dissapeared. All they are doing is complying to a court order until the appeal is heard. I think people should realize that BOS wants the same thing you all want. They want to reopen and be back as business as usual.

Don't you think they may be a bit hesitant to reopen? I mean I have a feeling that if they do reopen many of their US customers will immediately zero out their accounts which would put a tremendous dent in their economic infrastructure...which may even force them out of business (??).
So, with that possibility looming, wouldn't they be better served to just take the money and run? - Closing up shop with cash in hand is better than closing up shop in debt.

Not taking the books side in this by any means, just thinking out loud (or in this case silently in text form).,

While you are probably right about a run on the bank, BetOnSports is a publically traded company on the London Stock Exchange. It would be virtually impossible for them to "take the money and run". As far as them going out of business, Americans are not the only customers that this book has.

Perhaps - but I'd be willing to bet (lol) that if even 40% of their American accounts were closed out they would suffer substantially. It may be a blessing that it is baseball season - Imagine if this was like week 3 in football??? -- OMG!!!

Well while I firmly believe that no one really knows what will happen although everyone is an "expert" on many different sites & columns but in reality there are a lot of guesses going on. I only really go on with what I am told directly. I believe things will work out. I am not naive enough to think it's a no brainer but I am still hopeful it works out. Obviously the longer it goes, the more nerve racking it is. Time will tell

not sure how much 18K is of your bankroll, but you should never have a large chunk of your bank at a bookie like BOS or any bookie like that, I will keep 20% at some bookies, but not more than say 5% or 10% at a book like BOS, this way if something goes wrong, it doesnt eat your entire bank.

BOS has terrible customer service reviews and grades. So this shoudnt be a huge huge suprise.

Typical government policy...raid and ask questions later.

The US government could legalize online gambling in the states and charge a tax, but only after the companies complied w/ an application and background check, etc in order to make the whole thing organized and professional.

But this will never happen.

Americans are dying in Iraq, North Korea is chucking missles into the air, Iran is bankrolling terrorists and what do our FBI agents worry about?....online gambling. They are as bad as them politicians trying to ban gay marriage. WHO GIVES A F___ ABOUT IT!!! LET PEOPLE MAKE THERE OWN DECISIONS!! IF SOMEONE WANTS TO GAMBLE...good for them, they're adults....IF SOMEONE WANTS TO BE GAY...good for them....stay off of my lawn though....IF SOMEONE WANTS TO SMOKE A DUTCH...good for them....IF SOMEONE WANTS TO SHOOT H INTO THEIR VEINS...good for them...just stay off of my lawn.

this whole situation will only force more people to go to the local books this football season...even if BOS opens up, people are scared now and don't want the financials opened up...if you go local make sure you have a few bulldogs available to collect for you.
