49ers DL Shaun Smith Fined For Grabbing Genitals
DL Shaun Smith was fined $10,000 for grabbing 49ers RT Anthony Davis' genitals last Sunday, according to FOXSports.com. Smith was accused of a similar action by Brown C Alex Mack.
Davis and Mack both said it went beyond touching them in the groin area; he apparently locked on and squeezed. Both players ended up drawing 15-yard penalties in reacting to what they said Smith had done. Smith denied anything untoward earlier this week and head coach Todd Haley was publicly at least, trying to ignore the situation.
"I know nothing about the accusations," said Haley. "I kind of get the gist of things. But I think these officials are the best there are. They're really good at a very difficult job and I go by what they tell me and I think that's' a good practice and something that I've learned along the way."
