The auction, held at the Marriott Centerpoint Hotel in Pontiac, disposed of the former home of the Detroit Lions to be eventually used as a men’s major league soccer and women’s soccer facility.


Curious what kind of support there would be from the surrounding community for a major league soccer team (either MLS/USL or something else)? Going to be very difficult to fill even a 1/3 of that stadium given the economic conditions around there.

Does appear to be a decent enough stadium for soccer though (last picture here is of the stadium during the 94'cup http://www.clarkcompanies.com/naturalgrassworldcup.htm).
