When Prez Obama visited Ottawa last summer the first thing Cdn Governor General Michaelle Jean told him was to help Haiti (financially). You should have seen his face. Unbelievable. Now he has no choice to help out, as well as Unicef, Red Cross, United Nations, etc. and you & me.

No matter how one looks at it someone else's problem is our problem too (101 sociology)

Our Church supports an orphanage there and does an annual mission trip to Port au Prince. I sent an email earlier to the Church to see if they have heard anything and am going in tomorrow to see if there is anything we can do to help. Those children's lives due to aids and poverty has been rough enough I pray they're okay currently.

dang, hope everything works out. Hatians are pretty hostile, hope this does not add to that fire, and hopefully not that many lives are lost.

Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

Don't worry we will all be donating with our taxes. Just trying to look good to the rest of the world. How about donating some money to fix up our inner cities? They look like they've been earthquaked too.

hey--everyone has to do what their conscience dictates. If you choose not to donate that's your choice. But don't make it political. It's not.

Maybe on a person to person level its not political but on a gov't level it most certainly is political

Haiti has been a mess for a long long time and not many have reached out to them 1 bit....now a tragedy and everyone is playing the help game...

its sad what happened for sure but dont tell me the world gov'ts dont see this as a political oppurtunity.
