I almost killed my 8 year old cousin once.
We don't like ground-hogs ( except Phil ) or whatever you call them animals.
Whistle-pigs, whatever they are.
They look cute in the grass but do a bunch of damage.
We shoot them with a 22 and scope. I killed quite a few for my dad over the years.
I got one at 200 yards this summer in the head. I can shoot!
Anyway...
I took a rifle once from my dad's closet, when I was 12, a 30ott6 I think?
My cousin was walking down the steps in front of me on the way to kill it and the gun went off blowing a large large hole in the ground, just to the right of his head. Scared the crap out of me forever. I bought a nice 9mm for protection, shot it once, and put it away in the closet where it belongs. I don't like it, but its there.
That said, this kid sounds like he was using guns for the wrong thing. He took the weapon to use it against other people and deserves to be punished to the max.
Take him off the streets now is what I say. The parents did a geat job huh?

isn't a 30ott6 a bit much for ground-hogs? i use that to hunt deer
