Thumbs down 8th-grader suspended from school for shaving Bengals logo onto his head

Here's a Bengals fan who will make Chad Ochocinco proud: Ohio eighth-grader Dustin Reader was suspended for carving a Bengals insignia into the back of his head.

Reader's haircut included stripes similar to those on the Bengals' helmet. But his support for the 6-2 Bengals was flagged by school officials.

He was placed on in-school suspension -- where the school says he'll remain until his hair grows back. The cut violates the school's personal conduct policy that the AP reports "prohibits extreme and distracting hairstyles."

Readers' barber, Chris Campbell, told the Dayton Daily News he even colored the boy's hair to include the Bengals' black-and-orange colors for Sunday's game. But the colors were washed out before school on Monday.

Readers' parents were upset with the suspension and said they will not make the boy shave the cut, which school officials say would allow him to return to class.

"We're not going to fix it," his mother, Tina Wanamaker, told the Daily News. "He's still going to school and I'm proud of him for that." -- Sean Leahy

wouldnt try that look around here......

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- A Pennsylvania student who complained that a teacher forced him to sit on the floor during a midterm exam for wearing a Denver Broncos John Elway jersey has left the school district.

Brian Vannoy said his son, Joshua, faced continued harassment and silence from students at Beaver Falls High School.

"He doesn't feel wanted," Brian Vannoy told the Beaver County Times. "I just want him to be happy in school."

The 17-year-old junior enrolled at a new school Friday, but his father would not identify the school. Vannoy returned to school on Jan. 30 with an escort.

Vannoy wore the jersey of retired Denver quarterback to class, teacher John Kelly, a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, forced him to take the midterm sitting on the floor and encouraged other students to pelt him with wads of paper.

I don't see anything wrong with the cut being that it's easily identifiable as the Bengals logo and not some type of gang symbol.
