America's Most Livable Cities (Forbes)

1. Pittsburgh, Pa
2. Ogden, Utah
3. Provo-Orem, Utah
4. Ann Arbor, Mich
5. Harrisburg-Carlisle, Pa.

http://www.forbes.com/2010/04/29/cit...me-income.html

This year's rankings of America's most livable cities are now up for viewing on Forbes.com, and I'll spoil the surprise by telling you that Pittsburgh has topped the rankings, yet again. Quoting Forbes, "Pittsburgh's art scene, job prospects, safety and affordability make it the most livable city in the country, according to measures studied."

The "most livable" moniker is a familiar one for the city, which took home that title in Rand McNally's "Places Rated Almanac" in 1985 and 2007 and The Economist Magazine in 2007 and 2009.

The business publication ranked the city as No. 1 based on its art and leisure scene, job prospects, safety and affordability.

Reiterating the observation that has won the city high livability marks from other ratings mavens, reporter Francesca Levy wrote: "The city has rebounded from its manufacturing past. Disused steel mills have been repurposed into multimedia art centers."

Not once did they mention sports, which should be an illustration to just how well-rounded the city continues to be.

my wife was asked if she wanted to move there for the next two years to open up the store and her response was....."im not even going to ask my husband about this one because i already know the answer will be no"
