No - he's just old... and Yanks aren't going to win much.

that being said.. it's a good time to retire given the Clemens things going on... less likely to be negatively afftected by any of that S if he's retired...

Recent postseason numbers (last 15 years) are so inflated

it used to be that there was one postseason series, the world series. the only series you played was against the BEST team in the other league, not some .500 team that limped into the playoffs. Pettitte has 5 world series wins, half of the leader, whitey ford, who has 10.

Not saying that pettitte shouldn't get in, but alot of this current crop of yankees who have all these postseason records is because they've played 15 years in the wild card era. just should be noted imo.

ties to performance enhancing drugs would be the only thing that would keep pettitte out.
