I need to reformat my computer but I dont have the drivers cd. How can I back up my current drivers now so I will have them handy when I have to reinstall them? Sorry not a computer smart so maybe I'm explaining it wrong.

You could try the manufacturer's website - download them all and burn them to CD.

Bob this is a generic brand computer. I dont even think they have a website anymore. LOL. So is there a way I can manually backup all the drivers on the computer and to make sure I get them all?

the manufacturer of the computer does not make its components
you need to go to the manufacturers website of the sound card etc

In my experience, everytime that I have reformatted and then reinstalled my OS (Windows or LINUX) I can get enough of the drivers from the OS to operate the computer. After doing this, take a look at your hardware profile through the control panel and see if you have any hardwarde issues. If so, Windows can automatically search for a driver update. And, you can always go to any of the multiple driver websites out there to find a compatible driver. |
