lol I was only kidding as this is the only plumbing term/item I know. So I checked it out on wikipedia and look who it was invented by lmaooo priceless

"A ballcock (also balltap or fill valve) is a mechanism for filling water tanks, such as those found in flush toilets, while avoiding overflow. It was invented by Thomas Crapper."

It does sound like the ballcock is in need of replacement?!?!

Trossi, depending on the guts you have in this particular toilet, it may be as simple as resetting the level of the float. Have had to do that with one of ours.

If the tank looks like it is full but water is still running, float may be may be set at a level which is too high. Adjusted mine down a hair and fixed the problem.

Could be sign of another problem but I would try that 1st.

Should be able to raise or lower the float, maybe a set screw or clamp mechanism which determine the spot where the float will stop it at its desired fill level. That would be the 1st and hopefully quick fix.

One of my floats had a bad seal so I had to replace that part of the apparatus. In that case, it would actually stop running for brief periods and then come back on as the water leaked. So, it didnt run constantly.

Hope its just a simple fix.
