Anybody going to the Kentucky Derby?

Hello all
This will be my 20th Ky Derby in a row. I have attended every year since 87. No, I am not loaded and sit on Millionaires row. I am a bum that pays $40 to sit in the infield. If anyone goes, I sit on the backstretch near the third turn. I am always along the fence. I was interviewed last year as the "first person into the derby". Let me know if anyone is going to be there. We sneak a gallon of Crown, Jack and Jager in every year. (alcohol prohibited to carry in) I thought that I had seen that DOMAFIA was going to attend, hasn't been confirmed.

WildKat, yeah I'm almost sure I'll be there and likely going the same route as you - infield and third turn. I'll have more details on the trip tonight or tomorrow morning. I'll check back into this thread then. LOL, maybe I'll just run around through the crowd yelling out "Cappersmall" till I see ya!

I hope that you are there Saturday. If you do, it's a must that yopu come over for some beverages. I'll be in line by 430am. If you walk along the backstretch, third turn, look for a group of people that have three bright yellow smiley face blow up chairs and a newly bought South Park blow up chair. I will go out tomorrow and buy something else that will be able to be seen from a little ways away. In the past years, I have had a 6' blow up Christmas tree and the last couple years it has been a palm tree. Come over to that group and ask who is the man, hopefully they will say me. I am going to be wearing a newly bought Gray T-shirt that has Ward and June Cleaver on the front with June stating to Ward " Ward, you were awfully hard on the Beaver last night" I know, kinda cheezy, but what the hell. I look forward to meeting a fellow capper. I might even have some info into the days races. More than likely, we will have an RV somewhere outside of Churchill for some extra party time.........

We are in the infield. There is no limit of people there, or at least there never has been. Now sitting in the stands will take either knowing someone or getting involved in their lottery system for some limited seats. Or you can get on a waiting list for years. They are actually going through some mumbo jumbo right now over this issue in regards to people getting tickets through the lottery and scalping them. If they confirm that you have scalped, then you will never be allowed to buy from them again.

I alomost went down today for the concert in the infield and the races today. Alot of my friends are there today and through the week. I have only done the Oaks/Derby one time. Of course, we did the Oaks all day then were in line for the Derby at 1am. It made for a loooong day. I'm going to keep watching Barbaros.Imight have to unload on him depending on where I am at after 9 races.

I might make it this year for the first time. It might depend on wins/losses on Derby. If I go, we will have a cold one..

Wildkat, I'll keep my eye out for you. From what it sounds like, you shouldn't be too hard to spot, though I imagine that's easy to say now not knowing how many thousands of people will be herded together there. I have no idea if my group will be bringing anything to make us stand out. I'll probably have a CappersMall visor on assuming the sun is out like it should be on Saturday.
