Have never seen anything like this here. My block got off ok but 3 blocks south of where I am it got hit pretty hard. Trees down big time and a bank got hit pretty bad. Lots of cars damaged with the trees falling on them.

sorry didn't respond earlier guys. it seemed to blow over, but then the real thing hit about a half hour later, really quite amazing, some damage from hail and trees but no major problems here, thanks a bunch for checking in guys that reminded me of Hurricane Andrew (was in Gainesville at the time)

Imagine if you were in South Florida. Hurricane Andrew is the scariest thing I have even been part of or seen. I will never forget that

Dr. Jack it rained the hardest rain I can remeber for 4 straight days in Gainesville, it was almost laughable except for the horrible tragedy. Must have been 20 inches. My girlfriend was from S. Miami in the Deco District and the beach came across the street all the way to their place so she and her family came up to Gainesville at the time. It was months and months of food drives and everything else, it was really quite a lot for me just being in college.

I hope your family was OK and that the scary experience was nothing more than that for you.
