Anyone else ever been through a DUI checkpoint?

I was f'in nervous. Never had been through one and only had 3 beers and a shot. Cop asked me how many and I told him 2 beers. I had to follow the pen, walk a straight line, hold my foot up for 30 seconds and blow into that thing. I passed everything and only blew a .018. Cops asked me again about how many I drank and I'm thinking dude I just passed everything.

My buddy who was in front of me had 8 beers and 3 shots, already has a DUI, but blew a .064 and the cop let him go.

Anyone been through this?

i been through 3 of em, luckily each time i was sober, its nerve wracking as hell. out at UMass Amherst they do them periodically, and I was usually working on the nights they did them, so I saw so many people get nabbed, but basically they stopped everyone and asked you a question/had a mini conversation and if they deemed you alright you went on your way, if not you went to the side where they did whatever.

They dont do them alot in Philly but when they do they have to post them in the Newspaper. When u head outside the city ur asking for shit though. Glad u got through u dont need that crap

Thats a nice cop there...he could have hooked him up for that one....he must have passed all the tests first and he was in a good mood

I know my ex wrecked her car and blew a .18 but passed all the sobriety tests so the state troopers just drove her home.....lol

whats the limit down there, i thought .064 would pass, up here the limit is .08

The limit is .08, so he got lucky. He passed all of his tests and then the cop told him he better go home.

They have them every weekend in Delaware lol. Usually they are the same spot and it was my friends fault for turning down this street. Luckily, we were not bombed.

yeah they are supposed to post in the newspaper when they are having them, tho they are very vague and will say something like on friday there will be a checkpoint on a mid-major highway off rt 93, and theres like 20 of there so its a crapshoot.

Went through one outside of Philly back about 99-02 or so after a Sox-Phils game on way back to West Chester. Just asked where I was coming from and heading too, said he smelled alcohol and just said I had a few beers at the game. That was it, was f'in nervous as heck, esp back then when I was dumb in my early 20's....

Most places are .08 for DWI....the catch is there are other amounts too...

such as .06 can be a DUI here in MD and DC has a .02 for that also

It's where cops block off a road in an attempt to catch drunk drivers. They will ask you questions and if you have been drinking and then will determine to check you out or let you go.

Police set up a road block on any road they decide....every car or a certain every other number of cars are stopped and drivers checked for drinking.

FYI....people who decide to turn off or turn around will most certainly be pulled over and checked...that trick is watched for

yeah here in mass at least they have signs about a 1/4 mile back and they do it on stretches of road that dont have left or right turns for at least a 1/2 mile before the stop, and thers always the pig hiding in the shadows ready to stop someone who pulls a u-ey

over here they take your car and licence at .5 tenth of a percent (BAL in miligrams per 100 mililitres)
