Anyone else get hit with this new Virus??

Work for an insurance company and we got hit with some kind of new virus that supposedly just made its way into the US on the 7th. Totally crashed everyone computer Wed and Thurs. Today we were super slow. The tech guys havent been home since Wed trying to fix it. Anyone else get hit with this one??

If they dont believe its worth the price tell them to add up the total cost of your repairs and imagine doing it a few more times not to mention cost of lost business and paying people who cant work. worked on my boss after we got hit with something that sounds similar to what you got.

I honestly dont know why your laughing

Macs dont get viruses, macbooks last longer and they can do everything a pc does and more.

The only way they would not be for everyone is if they could not afford them (he works for an insurance company, doubtfull, plus you dont need anti virus software you dont have to worry about it dieing <laptop> in under 6 years and you dont have to throw money at it when it gets infected because it wont) or they were too lazy to learn how to use it. And that would take a couple hours at most.

Why are macs useless for me? because of many reasons.
1. they dont support all the software i use daily. yes i could probably load a virtual pc and run it to run my programs. that is just stupid.

2. they have a different processor and interpreter. i am a software engineer. Corporations dont use macs to do their business tasks.

3. their system is close ended. meaning you have to jump through hoops to develop software for the mac machines. which is why they cant be universally adopted.

4. macs do crash; especially if you are a power user. they have memory leaks just like PCs. they have some faulty hardware as well. do a web search on high end users. they will all tell you the same.

i could come up with more; but they would be more of a persoanl preference for how some things should be done.

I respect your preference for macs; just dont tell me they are better than PCs because its not true.
The issue he had was the responsibility of his IT dept keeping up with technology and security.
