Anyone ever been thru this or watched it happen?

Long story short here. I'm switching careers( last day March 24th) after almost 12 years with the last 9 as the boss/running the company along with my 1 secretary with only the owner above us but not really in the mix. Company was officialy sold 2 weeks ago to a new owner with the old owner staying on part time as to show the ropes.

I gave up my office/management duties in Jan. except for offering advice/help only when asked by my secretary who is like a second mom to me.

I don't think I've ever seen/heard of a biz going into the shitter as quick as this one is right now. It's pathetic to say the least. I guess I shouldn't care but it's hard not to after being with some of these guys for 9+ years and them not realizing that thier jobs are in serious danger here shortly due to lack of orginazational skills which I always did before.

Anyone ever watched this happen or been apart of it???? On one hand it bothers me alot but on the other I'm laughing my ass off seeing that my ( old boss) told everyone who would listen that he ran the show for the company and that I/my position was not needed at all for the company to continue to flourish. Company is 6-9 people and does 1 mil. a year in biz.

Sorry for the ramble but today was a joke at work and needed to vent a bit. At least I'll be out soon and it won't matter but karma is a bitch for my old boss as I truely believe his biz( 30+ years in existence) is finished here shortly .

This happens pretty often. A large company buys a successful smaller company and runs it into the ground. I don't get it either. I have friends that work at a company (I won't say which one) but they were at 3000 employees at the time of the buy out. They are now at 600 employees, about 3 years later. Sure, some of the downsizing was probably due to the shitty economy but they've also made poor management decisions along the way.

This isn't the case though but I know what you mean. This is nothing more then a guy who was looking to own and run a biz as his own. He had no other business. I kinda feel bad for the guy as he seems really nice but just has no clue WTF is going on. His head is spinning bigtime right now along with he is way over his abilties.

Oh well and thanx DH

Ohh ok. So it wasn't bought out by another company. It was bought by one guy. Sounds like you're better off going somewhere else. So were are you going to work after this?

This will cheer you up bro...my special blonde moment from a few days back :
I was browsing through the mall and caught your recipe, which naturally draws me in. Not only because I love sea-food but am eating healthy since the New Year.
I read the title and thought, what the hell is that guy talking about, where can he catch a crab in Maryland. We kill stuff and eat it around here and consider it goumet food bud...LOL...but true.
First I thought it was a joke or something and was going to reply as in my mind Maryland was land-locked with no ocean to get a crab. Then I thought you must be playing and talking about ho'z, and getting crabs from one.
Finally I had a look at the map and realized it was for real. That's pretty stupid pal...Ocean City, Maryland...duh...
I then went and got a manicure...LOL !
