Question Anyone Ever Sat For an EIT (Engineer In Training) Exam??

Is it worth the time and effort to take this exam and be registered for your state?

Was pondering this as I want out of my current line of work. Seems like PE's are always in demand these days.

most PEs are structural or civil engineers

not much need for PE Electrical imo

Plus lets be honest neither of us are true engineers

you have a BS as do I, but we barely skimmed the surface with a bachelors

and your masters is in Business not engineering

i cant stand working as a wireless engineer for Booz Allen.. i want a change. i made a big mistake leaving the FCC. I should have gone part time for my MBA and rode the cushy 7-3:30 job there with no pressure.

Too many projects that keep me busy, dickhead bosses, prostituting services for the company and then sometimes a lot of free time.. which i dont mind, but hate cause i know something major is coming along...

Getting registered as an Engineer in Training doesn't do much for you except that in some states it will accelerate the minimum time for taking the PE exam after graduation.

That would depend on where you are interning. Can your current job support your EIT work requirements?

also am interested in taking AutoCAD courses. Never had that exposure at the Univ of MD as I didnt need to. Think it would be cool and have noticed a lot of opportunties even in the EE world involving the use of it.

I begin my masters in September at UNCC

I want something more technical than a simple MBA

If you want to get on board with the building design technology of the future, look into Revit which is also produced by Autodesk. It is a parametric 3D design software which will change the way that buildings are designed within the next few years.

That depends on what kind of work you are doing. If you are in the building design industry, it is certainly not a waste of time.

Ok. Will look into it.. Need some more busy time for myself instead of being here. I will even look into Maryland's requirements to sit for the EIT or I guess the Fundamantels of Engineering as some have called it.

Thanks
