Anyone get a European Union Passport?

Was thinking about getting a European Union Passport, both parents were born in Europe so I would qualify to get one even though I was born and raised in Toronto and have never lived in Europe. Anyone get one yet, if so, is it a long process? Good idea or bad? Would you consider getting one?
