anyone have a cat?

I've had a cat for like 9 years. he caught diabetes like 2 months ago. real lethargic, back legs starting to go, drinks about 32oz water a day. bills kinda getting expensive for medicine and vet visits....time to put to sleep? I just can't bring myself to do it, but i don't want him to suffer

If you really like the cat don't put him down. I've had 2 with diabetes. One died a couple of years ago but seemed pretty happy until the end. Treated him twice a day for 3 years but you will know when the time is right because you will have trouble keeping his levels right. When you can't keep him from getting too high or he goes into Diabetic Coma more than a couple of times in a short period of time it will be time to do something. As long as you are regulating and he still gets around OK I would personally wait. Just my 2 cents. Good luck with whatever you decide.
