Anyone have the iPod Nike+?

I already have a regular iPod but I'm thinking about getting a iPod nano just for this. Anybody have it? Does it calculate distance accurately? I think it would be better if it was a GPS device. Any feedback would be appreciated.

g it over xmas with the Nike + shoes

does it calculate distance accurately?...yes to a 0.05 of a mile

no GPS

you can set goals for a month, display graphs of your runs. everything you have seen on the nike website if youve looked

somewhat simplisitic but im sure it will be improving soon to come

from what i found on the web, people are putting the sensor under the laces of other shoes and getting ok results. all the nike shoe does is provide a slot for the sensor. i'd probably go with a nike shoe anyways tho.

accuracy was what i was worried about mostly. from what i saw on the apple and nike website it looks pretty sweet. i think i'm going to pull the trigger.

I bought an iPod Nano and Nike + and went on my 1st run. I compared it to what the treadmill said and it was pretty close.

Treadmill
3.00 miles
471 calories

Nike+
3.11 miles
461 calories

This was with the out-of-the-box calibration, not bad.

I got the 4G iPod nano for $200. And the Nike+ is $30. They want you to also buy the Nike+ running shoes but for now I'm using my Adidas and just putting the sensor underneath the laces. I'll get a pair of Nike+ 180's when I need a new pair.

If you do a lot of running, and want to keep track of your progress...I say it's worth it. It gives you real time feedback and a voice will tell you your progress every once in awhile. Keeps you motivated. Then the data syncs to the Nike website so you can keep track of your runs, set long term goals, etc. Can even challenge other users.

I had some gift cards to burn though so I had to pick something, lol.

We could either do 1st person to X number of miles....or who runs the most miles in X number of days.

We set it up through the Nike+ website. Do you have a Nike+ user name? We probably won't be able to post them here though. Get my e-mail from Dr. Jack.

most miles in x number of days is a good way to start. I will ask Jack if we can put them here. Its just a username on the website we cannot communicate through it. I will let you know by the end of teh night.
