Anyone here work for DuPont?

Just got word that DuPont is in the process of buying out the company that I work for for about 6 Billion dollars. Was just curious if anyone here works for DuPont and what kind of company they are to work for. Hopefully nothing will change for us except the name but you never know when being bought out. This will be the 3rd time in the last 15 years that we have been bought out by another company and we were not affected very much by the first 2 buyouts so hopefully this time will be similar.

Any info from any DuPont employees would be appreciated...

I'm sure nothing will change at Danisco, $5.8 bil is sure high price to pay, about 23 times earnings per share.

If it's like all the other company's lately they will tell you the following: In order to compete we will have to cut your pay and benefits and give the CEO a Billion dollars in stock taxed at the lower tax rate

I am sure you are right as far as corporate Danisco goes. I heard today the actual amount was $6.3 bil as DuPont also absorb a 1/2 billion dollar debt Danisco had. Some big money but Danisco is a huge international company. Of course im not as concerned about the corporate Danisco as I am our small plant where I work. We have about 70 employees and make 1 basic product. The good thing is our plant has been very profitable to Danisco over the years, so hopefully DuPont will keep us and not sell us off after the buyout.

I understand what you are saying, but I don't think that will happen. The plant I work at was originally Pfizer,Inc. Pfizer sold our division to a company overseas who then merged with Danisco back in 1997. Our pay and benefits did not change during those transactions, so just hoping for the same this time. Just nerve racking not knowing for sure.
