Anyone losing weight or need to ? I just ended a contest

our gym has a ' biggest loser ' contest so I entered.

I work out at noon but basically go in there and lift weights as I figure I don't have enough time to work a big sweat up to where I have to shower before I hustle back to work

So , I have found myself getting stronger in areas where I don't need to get bigger and not working out places where I need to get smaller - belly, pretty much - period

So, we got to weigh in anytime in January and had 8 weeks from that time to then weigh in again-

I cocked off and told everyone " hell, I will lose 10 % so if anyone wants to beat me they need to lose more than that . "

Being the competitor that I am, I felt that I absolutely HAD to lose that 10%

I did, I went from just under 200 to 177 so it came out to around 11 %

I finished two weeks ago and have since only gained back 5 - not bad, going to start back at it to try to get to 170

Now I can't wait to see how the 75 others did to see if I won anything .

It really was not that hard to do- clean up my act basically

So, get after it Mallers !

I could stand to lose 20. I am comfortable at 200-210. At 230 now. Just belly fat. I am right at 6ft so not really a fat guy.

Exactly like you.....6 ft, better at 200-210. Sitting at 240 now, big guy with some belly fat.

Can't do cardio with my knee the way it is, and I'm normally a cardo addict. That's what has limited me.

I did the south beach thing when it was hot. Did it faithfully for 2 weeks (which means NO beer/booze). Lost 19 lbs in 14 days. Sad to say, I got on the beer again and put 15 back on "like that".

Now I do cardio--ride bike for 45-60 min once I get my heart rate up to 140. Great sweat and lost 30 lbs and have kept it off. (and still drink my fair share of beer )

Working out at 42 is a lot harder than 22 but, yes, I too feel better.

nice work secondbase

like most of you guys, i too am 6'1" and weigh 225

Ive been limited by a grade 2 mcl tear which keeps re-occuring...now I've got a knee brace and when the weather starts getting warm enough (couple more weeks) to looke about 30-40lbs by september I want to crack 200 for sure, and even hit my old 185 when I used to race downhill few years back.....Not a big guy, little belly action now, my legs haven't gotten fat though, always had huge legs from skiing - I have issues getting jeans because I hate tight pants, even the loose fits are often tight on my thighs lol

I've been lazy since buying my house, so I haven't been as active in the gym. My goal is to lose about 20-30 lbs starting after my vacation.

GL with it 2nd base. It's a lifestyle change.

our contest was simply a % of weight loss. They have another one going that will be % of body fat. I may get into that too.

Guys it really isn't that hard and it does really feel good - I enjoy my adult beverages as much if not more than the rest of you- and I didn't go cold turkey, just cooled it a bit and also cooled it on some other things

we owe our family and ourselves to look and feel better
