Love it, either playing 1 or 2 spots. Also like playing with 1 or 2 other people. Hate a full table.

But it's hard to keep idiots from sitting down with you when there are open spots. Morons everywhere.

I have problems in the one on one and the other person either leaves, forgets, or something. They never make a bet or a hit. Timer goes off and it makes a minimum bet for them . They never bust , and I guess they are just counting on their opponent to lose more than they will

I primarily play double deck and never play at a table with more than 3 people. The optimal number of people for me is 2. I prefer not to play multiple hands as it doubles my risk, but I will do it just to change the cards up if I'm playing by myself. Although we have casinos all over the place here, I never play here for 3 reasons

1. In the Indian casinos you have to pay an ante per hand. If played correctly w/o the ante the house edge is less than 1%. Factor in the ante and IMO you can't win over the long haul.

2. In the Indian casinos they have continuous shuffle machines, which IMO are taboo. I just don't like them.

3. The highest limit table in the casinos around here is $25, which means you see a boatload of horrible players. The players are so bad the house couldn't possible lose.

10 years you never saw a bad blackjack player at a $25 table. Today, when I'm in Vegas, I see horrible players at the $100 tables. Generally speaking, I make a habit of knowing the dealers and floor staff. In a discrete and respectful way, they will tell me if someone at a given table is a bad player. I could talk blackjack all day! Hope this info helps.

thanks j/d

I am strictly by the book... what was the old book ' Roberts Rules of Blackjack ' , I believe.

No hunches. i hit or stay based on the hands dealt.
I, too, cant stand playing on a table where people have no clue. It ruins all train of thought

Same here my friend. In my younger days, I would get so upset with people for splitting 10s, not hitting a 16 against a 7 or better. Today, I just get up and leave. Any more I treat blackjack like I do poker. Its not so much about what I win, what I don't lose is more important.

Good luck!

Sometimes the people who split 10s, or tuck a 15 or 16 against a dealer's 10, know more than you think they do, although not most of the time.

I must be pointed out that 99% of players keep the casinos in business for the rest of us, though.

I can live with the person who consistently splits 10s or doesn't hit the 15 or 16 against the 10. The unpredictable player is the one that drives me nuts because that guy usually wants to sit on 3rd base. I think the number is more like 99.9999999999% of players keep the casino in business for the rest of us. Of course my $3,000 free rooms hurt sometimes, LOL!

I wouldn't want anyone to do either of those things consistantly. Just do them at the right time.

Most really good players still wouldn't split 10s even when it's a good play. Most pit personnel can pick out a good player pretty quick, and if they see a "good player" split 10s, they'll probably think he may be too good.

Most of the double deck I see in Vegas pay 6/5 for black jack. Im assuming you don't play on these tables.

Double deck pays 3/2........Single deck pays 6/5........

If you're in a casino that pays 6/5 on double deck, run.........

Must of been standing in front of the pussy cat doll tables. but generally I do see a more 6/5 double deck than not...at least on the strip. maybe there are more DD 3/2 tables in downtown.

But yes never sit down on a 6/5 BJ payout.

I thought secondbase was talking about the 1 vs 1 player tournaments......not the actual BJ game of players vs the dealer (house).

Not sure, but I think it sort of morphed into a general blackjack discussion.
