Atten: Dave NZ

Went to a wine tasting tonight and tried a New Zealand wine called Monkey Bay which is from the Marlbourough area. The Vendor told me it was one of the most popular wines in New Zealand, and they just started marketing it over here. Australian wines have become a big hit here in the US, but this is the first New Zealand wine I have tried. Just wanted to let you know it was good stuff!!

Ive had some wines from australia, they were pretty good. Nothing beats 2002 La Planeta Merlot though, I suggest you try that.

I am far from a wine connoisseur! lol but yeah monkey bay is good stuff. You are right it does come from the Malbourough region, I'm impressed u have remmembered all that and spelt Marlbourough correctly. Hell alot of NZers couldn't as it is a very small region, but It has some great wineries.
If u are into that sort of thing and ever come here Marlbourough and Hawkes Bay are two must places to go. You can get a lunch and sample the wine u want for around $60 (more or less depending where u go, rough figure).
NZ does produce alot of good wines, pleased to see them breaking into the US market.

You may want to give "Nobilo" wines a go, I believe they sell in the US. Another good NZ wine.

henry09 would probably be able to answer this if Iggs can't. He is away but when he gets back in a few days, he may know the answer as he is into his wines.
