backing into a parking spot

Why do people back into a parking spot? Its much easier to back out of a spot, than to back into one.

It's also easier to pull right out....if there aren't any other cars around to hold up I will back into parking spaces.

I drive a company car and our policy is to always back into a spot, it's suppose to be a safety issue, I think it's stupid and agree it's just a waste of time, we actually get a warning if a supervisor catches us not backed into a spot.

I drive in. Less damage to back of car if some dumbass backs into you.

I back in (or pull through) when I can without being a pain in the ass...

Tailgating - back in (we party on the grassy area so backing in is key - plus makes leaving later easier)

Driveway - back in - constantly loading/unloading things out of my trunk into the garage.

Actually - many of our job sites require it... less like to run a man over driving forward in a truck (implying a vehicle where you are only relying on side view mirrors, not the rear view) than in reverse.

Yeah I know what you mean, I drive an 18wheeler and some of the plants we work at have the most ridiculous "safety" policies, some of this stuff I swear they make up just to waste time lol.

One is you have to sound the horn anytime you start to move. So at times theres 50 trucks in the plant and all you hear is "beep" "beep" "beep" just everywhere. Its just like wtf

One I saw driving the other day was a time warner cable truck. Im sitting at a red light to make a right turn and its wide friggen open and this guy isnt going. Then I see it says on his bumper "these trucks dont turn right on red." Now this is a cable pickup, not an 18 wheeler and he's driving around all day. I waited about a minute for nothing, no big deal until I thought this guy is probably at ober 50 stop lights/day. So he wastes over 50 minutes/day of peoples time just because the avg person is too friggen dumb to make a right turn on a red so now none of their drivers are allowed to. These guys are getting paid by the hour just milking the clock waiting at reds and I have to wait because of it, wasting time which is money to me.

It was all started for good reason but unfortunately now (like everything else in 2011 america) its just gone overboard and is just ridiculous

its smart to back in, in case u need a boost or some sort of roadside assistance
easy access to the battery and other stuff under the hood

although putting the death star into reverse isnt easy!!!!!

I park far enough away to where there are no vehicles around me. I don`t mind walking farther. That way I don`t have to worry about backing in or parking straight in.
