Bad Beat of The Year?

You almost have to feel for Shannon Elizabeth.
3 players saw a flop of
8s 7s 4s .

Elizabeth led out and was flat called.
The UTG player raised 2500 more.
Shannon thought for a minute before finally pushing all in.
The big blind insta-pushed (at the time I thought he had a set).

After a couple of minutes of contemplation the UTG raiser said "I don't know how I can get away from this" and called. The hands:
The UTG raiser had JS, TS
Shannon QS 9S ,
and the big blind... AS 2S .

That's right... three people flopped flushes and Shannon Elizabeth was eliminated, and understandably not happy.

For all the bad beat posters ...

sickest thing i ever saw live was when the WPT was in AC, they had a 100-200 NL game going, straight flush over straight flush.

6d-7d-8d. 4d-5d vs 9d-10d, some dude, hes won a WPT event lost around 75,000

not a bad beat?

What are the odds with a flush flop someone has a higher?

I don't have the answer , just curious...

yeah the odds arent that high for that in holdem...in omaha happens all the time but that is a totally different game...but for something to be a bad beat you have to basically have a hammer lock on the hand and the other person hits the miracle...here...she was never ahead at one point pre flop or post...can't be classified as a bad beat...just an unfortunate predicament

basically for a bad beat someone has to like a 2 outer, or runner runner for you to lose

Pre ahead or behind isn't the issue here.

Everyone here would have "thought" they were the hand winner.

An AA has a 20% chance of losing pre flop,
What was the % here?

well yeah the odds were with her since she had 3rd boss card for the flush...but with 2 others in the hand and they were pushing, she could have thought she could have been beaten...i had qq with q77 on flop 2 banging...i was like...fuk someone has aq and someone has 77...i couldnt get away from it and sure enough my read was right and i was drawing dead with no qs to come and someone having quads to my nut fh

Not even close to a bad beat, I would almost like to say it was a bad push if she had anything over 15k. The other two were betting for a reason.

Agreed, unlucky though
