bad day

this past weekend a guy i know, friend of a friend that ive hung out with a few times went out drinking for him and his wifes 5th anniversary. Had about 4 drinks and on the way home wasnt paying attention and rear ended a car at a light about 2 blocks from his house. Air bag deployed and knocked out one of his wifes teeth and bruised her face. Guy got a dwi, wife got a public intox and both spent night in jail on their anniversary.

now, the worst part...kid is in the air force and has been in training for YEARS to be a fighter pilot and was graduating this summer and was prob going to be stationed overseas. USA has spent millions on his training overseas and here in the country the last few years. Now on top of dwi and injuries he is going to be discharged from the program and prob the military and will never be able to fly....that is a bad day.

i don't know why people drink and drive and think that there will be no consequences...

drinking impairs your ability to drive safely...

why do some people think that this isn't so?

you are at a much higher risk to cause an accident if you drink and drive...

i have never and will never drive after i've had even one drink

why?

because i don't want to hurt an innocent person

a person who is following the law, trying to be a good mother, father, daughter... rear ended by someone who doesn't care...

think about the bad day they've had, being rear ended by a drunk driver... car smashed... medical injuries... so sad for them...

car the hit had no damage guy and no injuries. your right, dumb decision and they know it, he wasnt hammered, had 4 drinks but because cops came and wife had injury they were allowed to take blood which showed legal intoxication...not saying its an excuse, just telling the story of a bad day for them.

I lost a step sister to a drunk driver so the lesson he will learn is a small one. Drunk driving is horrible and people need to be held accountable. At least he and his wife are still alive.

I'm sorry to he ruined his career, but when you drink and drive you take that chance. I've lost 4 friends to DD and it's a sad thing that affects everyone involved. He's lucky he didn't kill anyone.

No problem man. It's sad for everyone. I wonder why Alcohol is legal. It probably kills more people than we probably think.

We all have driven drunk to some degree....but holy shit do I knock on wood

many times, when i was younger, I remember driving lit up

I remember as all bars were closing, and traffic picked up, driving the wrong way on a one way street in downtown Charleston....

he met with his commanding officer yesterday, he is on probation for 6 months. if he somehow gets off on dwi he can restart flight school and do al the tests again. He got an expensive lawyer but lawyer said it ising to be very tough b/c they took his blood at scene. If he is convicted its a dishonorable discarge and he wasted last 10 years of his life. Dishonorable discharge loks horrible on resume apparently.
