Best Friend or Friends

Do any of you have a best friend or friends that you can depend on through thick and thin? I mean, you know they will always be there for you no matter what the circumstances or situation is. I do his name is Humphrey and we`ve been best friends since we were kids.

My grandfather told me years ago that if you die with 2 really good friends your a lucky man. When I was younger I thought he was joking but now I can see that he was correct. I have a lot of people I know but I only have one friend that I would ever count on.

I could prolly name 15-20 good friends who I could count on at any time I needed them.

Myself pwherr. Was going to say that when I started the thread and say besides family, but didn`t. We are two lucky men!

I have hundreds of real friends (not internet) but if you can find 3 or 4 "true friends" you are doing great. A lot of my "friends" through the years have not been true friends.....There's a great song by Tracy Lawrence that sums it all up..."Find out who your friends are" pretty much says it all!

VERY well said brother, I couldnt agree more. I really like that song as in HS, there were a time or two I was left holding the bag. But it is what it is & you are better for every experience you go through.

Too be honest, I think I have ONE friend that I can ultimately depend on.....sad, but true. 100% trustworthy people are just hard to find these days. Too many people are watching their own back and no one elses.

My uncle told me when I was about 14 I would be able to count my closest friends on one hand. At the time, you know high school your friends with everyone and you think everyone is your buddy, I was like no way. Now I know what my uncle was talking about. I have 5 childhood friends that I will do anything for and they would do the same for me.

funny when you are a good person and you help people out. And then somewhere down the road you need their help and they can't offer it. That's how you know who your true friends are. No matter the circumstances your best true friends will be there for you.

I have 8 guys that I consider good friends. I have 1 that I knows everything about me and that I know I could count on at anytime.

I can agree with this. I have a lot of "coaching buddies" and guys I play softball with etc. but I simply don't see a lot of my good friends from back home anymore. My best friend from high school and college lives four hours away and I could still count on him for anything but it's just not the same when you only speak to each other maybe a couple of times in a 3 month stretch. I have 2 brothers that I know I can count on as well.
