Football – Jerry Rice
Baseball – Barry Bonds (save it for another debate, lol)
Hockey – Wayne Gretzky
Boxing – Mohammed Ali
Tennis – Pete Sampras (okay just tossed this in here)

I like Ty Cobb because he played baseball how it was supposed to be played... he'd come with a spikes up slide to break up a double play instead of running around the SS to avoid a leg injury... my #2 is Pete Rose

greatest player i've seen play would probably be A-Rod... guy could do everything... #2 is Tony Gwynn

I disagree about Magic. He was phenominal but no Jordan.

I can't even understand the Mattingly choice. While a good all around first basemen I can't see him being the top 5 Yankees in my era let alone best baseball player. And I like him by the way.

My era Jack.
I could've put Canseco, but I was staying away performance enhancers. McGwire would've been my other choice. Possibly Nolan Ryan.

If it was all time Jordan still wouldn't be my first choice.
