"BET THE FARM" someone says.......

How many people actually own farms?

I don't get the question? Lots of people own farms. Millions. And even more so, a hundred years ago when the saying probably originates from.

My Aunt and Uncle own one. Canola. Have a friends family that own one. Livestock.

Is this serious? Do you think that there are no farmers in the world? lol. I don't get this thread.

I grew up on a farm. Small farm as it was more of a "hobby" for my dad as he had a real job--38 years before he retired.

There are 2-3 "farmers" (families) w/ 20,000+ acres in the county I grew up in. Makes for some easy access to hunting when I go home (350 miles away).

I grew up 1 county from North Dakota and bordered Canada. Pretty much BFE.

sometimes I think fishhead acts stupid on purpose, this guy is from iowa and in his late 40s/early 50s

so im pretty sure who understands the origin of "bet the farm"

Supposedly the State of Iowa has the most farm acreage of all the other States... true?

My dads parents owned one way back in the day & that is where he grew up. Farm land is so precious these days, with all the new developments going on, they can be quite the cash cow if you want to sell.
