BetCRIS Weekly Review Oct 16th

Weekly Review Oct 16th

Tennessee saved our NFL Sunday with their upset victory over Washington. This week was a perfect day for people who bet 10 point Teasers, with Washington, Dallas, San Diego, Denver and tonight's Chicago games all favored by between 10 and 15 points. Unfortunately though, the ‘carry over' of winning Teasers for Chicago are immense so we are already looking at a very bad Monday Night Football game unless Arizona can do the impossible, which I doubt very much.

College Football was another good week for Bookmakers with some major upsets led by Indiana over Iowa (-19.5 point favorite) and Vanderbilt over Georgia (15 point favorite)

Troy Matteson was a terrific result for us in the Frys.com PGA Tour golf event this week. It was Matteson's first victory and he outlasted Ben Crane and Daniel Chopra by one stroke. Matteson was a part of our ‘field' price of +150 which didn't attract much action yet again, but both Crane and Chopra (50/1 each) did both receive bets of $1,000 to win $50,000 so Matteson was a perfect result for us.

Here are the best and worst Football games for the week.

Best Games for the house...

Indiana upset the big 19.5 favorite Iowa at home, 31-28. Iowa opened up an 18.5 point favorite and received lots of betting support to close higher at the 19.5 points. We did have a few bettors who bet Indiana at 14/1 for the victory but the amount of people who had parlays involving Iowa far outweighed the people who bet 14/1 on Indiana.

The other great game on Saturday to ‘destroy' parlay bettors was Vanderbilt upsetting Georgia 24-22. Georgia opened a 13 point favorite and closed 2 points higher at 15 points with a ‘ton' of action. One customer is probably still cursing Georgia after losing $36,000 at -900 trying to pick up an easy $4,000.

Tennessee have now played two good games in a row, and after nearly beating Indianapolis last week, they did come away with a win this week against Washington by a slim 3 points, 25-22. Tennessee was our lone good result which broke up some teasers Sunday, but as I wrote earlier, Chicago will be a very bad result if and when they win tonight.

Best Games for our Customers...

Oregon opened a 12.5 point favorite but most of the money wagered was on UCLA, so much so that the line dropped to Oregon closing a 10 point favorite. Most people that bet Oregon did so at either -10 points, or even -9.5 at times, so when Oregon won by exactly 10 points, 30-20, then we basically paid both sides.

Sunday NFL afternoon games were particularly good for our players with San Diego's big 48-19 victory being one of the best bet games. San Diego opened up a 9 point favorite and closed at a 10 point favorite and had nearly every 10 point teaser involved with them.

Pittsburgh was the other heavily supported team on Sunday afternoon, and they certainly proved worthy after destroying Kansas City 45-7. Pittsburgh was a 6 ½ point favorite which was the perfect number for our teaser bettors to take, and take they did. Pittsburgh was involved with all 6-7 point teasers.

Until next week,

Shane, Betcris.com sports desk
