Betfair wins prestigious ‘entrepreneur of the year’ award
BETFAIR was last night named as the ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ at the European Tech Tour’s prestigious Innovation Exchange awards.
The award, which organisers lauded as a “celebration of insightful entrepreneurship” was bestowed upon Betfair by a judging panel which included Electronic Arts, Accel Partners, Balderton Capital and Google.
Present in Copenhagen to receive the award was Betfair’s Chief Technology Officer Tony McAlister who said:
“We are especially proud to receive this award which we feel recognises the entrepreneurial mindset and culture that is prevalent throughout everything Betfair does.
“The award is testament to the vision of our two founders and to all of Betfair’s 2,000 employees around the world. Their hard-work and unfaltering commitment to innovation is unquestionably the critical driving force behind the company’s success to date.”
