Big 12 will crumble......... more than it already has..............
I know this is yesterday's news, but mark it down.
The Big 12(-2) is going to fall. Texas signing the exclusuve TV deal is the perverbial straw (that broke the camel's back)... A&M and OU will be headed to the SEC. that is all...

which is the reason it didn't make sense for the league to stay intact last year when all the talk was taking place. it was well known that Texas was going to get there own tv deal shortly.

OU has to do something, one would think... They have been really really quiet during these last couple years..... seems like they are just sitting back taking whatever comes there way

Where ever OU goes or stays they will play good ball.

Baylor is really the class of the big 12. Whoever ends up with them will be a lucky conference.

Sorry, but the SEC isn't taking applications right now.
A&M? We already have Mississippi State. OU? Would you consider a straight-up trade for Vandy?

The whole point of the SEC taking OU and A&M is TV viewership.... check out the total school standings and see where we rank... not to mention the superior academics... BTW... where there's smoke, there's ususally fire. You can bump this thread later if I am wrong. I'm not.

But regardless, if the SEC does anything, they'll be dealing from a position of power and will get the best deal for the least effort and cost. Notice that they didn't get involved one way or the other in all of last year's shifting with the Big's, the PAC, the WAC, the MWC, etc. To quote Gale Snoats from Raising Arizona, "We sittin' in the fabled cat-bird seat."

I've always said the SEC is the best football conference, and I was not in favor of A&M leaving... I lean differently now...
negotiation.... goes without saying. Saying they didn't get involved is a little naive IMO. There wouldn't have been a near fist fight between the A&M president and an esteemed Alum, if there wasn't any smoke... yes, but, he he who rests on his laurels tends to decay.

The SEC, Pac 12, and Big 10+2 control the BCS, in that order. The SEC is certainly #1. If they decide to expand, the Big 12-2 is dead. The SEC would take Texas A&M. Oklahoma would be questionable, because OU may insist on Oklahoma State going with them, and that would not go over with the SEC.
The Pac 12 ranks second in power, only because they are not afraid to give expansion another shot. They are certainly more liberal thinking than the Big 10+2 is. The Pac 12 would not hesitate to raid the Big 12-2 if the SEC opens the door for them, by taking A&M. I think that A&M will put up with Texas for one or two years, and then walk. A&M is not going to sit still while Texas rakes in huge money from the conference, while A&M scrapes along. A&M will start the Domino effect. When the dust settles, you will have 5 "Super Conferences". They will be the ACC, the Big 10+6, The Mountain West, the Pac 16, and the SEC. This can also set up a nice +1 scenario. The Rose Bowl keeps the Big 10+6, Pac 16 tie in. The Fiesta Bowl will have the MWC as their tie in. The Sugar Bowl keeps the SEC, and the Orange Bowl keeps the ACC. There are three "at large" spots for the best three teams who finish 2nd in their respective conferences, or Notre Dame, if they somehow manage to duck the Big 10+6 and remain an independent.

U can still have the big east in bball. I read somewhere that Texas earned upwards past 60 million in football one year and duke who won last year earned like 10 million. Football drives the boat.
