Big Development in Absolute Poker Case

I haven't seen this posted on here yet.

important information, very recent developements, all in this 2p2 thread:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...umber=12523924

to summarize, the user 363 superuser account was traced to an email address at an Absolute Poker domain believed to belong to a "Scott Tom". IP and email cross references showed that this was in fact the email of Scott Tom, CEO of Absolute Poker. Further research involving an internet company "Amnet" (which is used by p5s incidentally) showed that the IP address is a home modem. It was also revealed that a 2p2 poster who claimed to be high up in Absolute and who was spamming the boards with Absolute promotions and such had the same IP.

correct me if any of this info is wrong.

Conclusion: the CEO of absolute poker was using the superuser account from his home computer.

Thanks to Nat, Adanthar, and all who figured this stuff out, most incredible display of internet research I have ever seen.

Whether Scott Tom is still CEO and has a big part in Absolute poker after the Absolute UB merger, I do not know.

This is a huge blow to online poker, the one thing that everyone thought could not be done happened. When people said in the past would a online company cheat you? The smart players would answer on the net with "Why would a company take that risk, they make there money with rake."

In The Smart Money Michael Konik often spoke of some shady people that owned and wroked at some of these of shore places. With no one in place to regulate these operations of business they can do what they want.

Not only does the online poker player have to watch out for there own peers taking advantage of them by cheating, now they have to watch out for the companys themselves.

Absolute Poker does have a permit with KAHNAWAKE Gaming Commission. What does this commission do? Is this just a place where online sites write out a big check so they can display there logo.

As a online poker player since about 2003 this sours me greatly, something about this does not sit right. Absolute/UB will get no more business from me, I did my final UB withdraw 2 days ago. I urge anyone that was a Absolute client from now or in the past to send them a e-mail, even more important Send a E-mail to the KAHNAWAKE gaming commission and ask them how this can happen with there commission in place, or better yet ask them what that commission does.

I agree, the #3 site should be ok as well, not just the #1 site. With nobody being a watch dog for these sites, they can do what thet want.

not in this case because #1 and #2 are so far ahead of everybody else playing on #3 or anything after is about the same as playing on #28.
Either PS or FTP is fine. when you got to the other ones you are asking for trouble. The difference is that #1 and #2 make more than enough money on volume/rake that they dont need to cheat; not even the owner as he couldnt cheat fast enough to make as much as he make just sitting in the toilet and wiping his ass.
#3 on the other hand does not have the volume/rake income to resist the temptation to throw everything down the toile for a quick payday.

This is true the evidence out there has proved this happend and happend for a while. Absolute did pay out, I have made cash there as well.

Here is the thing that bothers me the most, it was a employee or X employee that he pissed off that turned him in by sending his Hand History to some online poker pro's. His ISP was his home address where this super user account was located. Who's to say half of the Absolute staff did not have a few more of these accounts in place at there homes. (we will never know)
The thing is if this mope took one $30 pot off of me that is two much, because he stole that pot by seeing my hole cards face up. In the BB he could of picked off a C-bet or bluff with a 4 high if you missed the flop.

The Potripper<--cheater account belongs to AJ Green, former Director of Operations at AP and Scott Tom's best friend. AJ Green is currently VP of operations at nine.com.

yeah it is pretty ridiculous. I also went through the hand history analyzed by a well known online poker player. It was extremely clear that those plays could not be made unless the cards were seen. BTW AP is part of UB so if you are going to boycott AP you gotta take your money off UB as well

Here is a video of the Absolute tournament where the superuser sees every hole card.
