Big Story Here On Long Island--What Would You Have Done ??

below is the link to the story. Apparent road rage incident. An incident occurs while you are driving. The other driver (the one with the Porsche) essentially chases after you. Blows a light to follow you as you try to get away. You call 911 on your cell phone. The Porsche takes his car and blocks the street. He gets out and is pounding on your car, screaming and cursing at you to get out (by the way, the guy was 6 foot 5). You can't back up because there is a car behind you. You try to swerve around the guy and he jumps in front of the car. What do you do ???

This guy ran him over and killed him.

Evan: What? One name? ONE NAME!?!? Who are you? Seal?
Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

and before you guys simply say "run him over", the guy who made that choice (and then tried to drive away afterwards) was arrested and will be charged with vehicular homicide. He will surely do time.

Keith here is a question. If this guy was threatening the other guy on a street and the guy felt his life was at risk(and from reading this I think a case can be made for him feeling that his life was at risk on how the other driver was swearing and pounding on his car) and pulled out a registered handgun and shot and killed him would that not be justification? Sorry the guy died but you want to be an ass and put yourself in a position where somebody feels their safety is at risk then you have made the choice that something may happen bad and unfortunately for him the bad was him getting run over and dying, but I do know one thing if he had not been out of his car, if he had not blocked the other driver in then this would not of happened.

tough call there Kirk. Hitting the guy and running him over and crushing him with your car are not necessarily the same thing.

well, that it ain't the best idea to greet someone carrying a machine gun in the elevator with "hi asshole" is pretty obvious...

...but know we know that we shouldnt jump infront of a car that tries to get away from us as we try to threaten or beat up the driver.

reading more crap could safe my life one day.

LOL

You laugh eek, but this kid's life (not the guy who got killed) is changed forever. No doubt he will do time for this.

maybe the moral of the story is not to engage the other driver in the beginning. There are alot of psychos out there. Always best to avoid a confrontation with one.

Keith I don't believe he will do time. I know if I was on the jury if the facts are what it looks like they are I would be voting Not Guilty. I am sorry you start up the confrontation, you get out of your car, you start pounding on another persons car while swearing at them I can see somebody feeling like their life was in jeopardy and is that not justifable? In my eyes it is, you don't want this to happen then stay the fawk in your car.

I hear you Kirk. Even if he doesn't do time, the only way he'll avoid it is with a top-notch criminal attorney who is going to cost him alot of $$$. To say nothing of the aggravation and uncertainty while this hangs over his head.

BTW--if he was so justified in what he did, why did he then try to flee the scene. They will get him on that (fleeing the scene of an accident with injuries) for sure.

turns out, the guy who was killed was the brother of a friend of my brother-in-law. Funeral was today.

Meanwhile the guy who ran him over was held on $ 5 MILLION DOLLARS bail. Seems awfully high under the circumstances.

There has to be more to this story. Probably some sort of conspiracy involving the Zionist regime

I wonder what the killer did to instigate the killed.
Story is a bit one sided at this point.

Could be a mint condition classic Porche, and this guy may have keyed it or something.

Maybe they have a history... maybe he did something to this guys family and this was a retaliation... who knows....

But for the fact that the dead guy, jumped out of his car and placed himself in front of the other guy's car, it's hard to believe that this would have happened. IMO the mistake wasn't running the guy over, but trying to flee the scene. Because of that, and his prior record he'll most likely serve time. A good argument can be made for self defense, especially since the guy was blocking the only escape route. If I was on the jury, I would acquit (or find him guilty of some lesser charge, like fleeing the scene) and let it be a lesson, don't block people off then pound on their hood threatening them having faith that your ass isn't going to get run over. The dead guy reaped what he sowed IMO.

no disagreement from me. BUT, after he hit him and knocked him down, he did not have to tyhen run him over. THAT is where he went too far.
