Who was the Yankees pitcher drafted #1 overall, late 80s early 90s. Don't remember his name but I think he's currently in prison for crack, never made the league

Can't forget these two stiffs:

1998 (Clippers) Michael Olowokandi....soft as cotton candy...the Flippers passed on the likes of Antwan Jamison, Vince Carter, Paul Pierce and Dirk Nowitzki (#9 pick) in order to get a poor man's Dwayne Schintzius!

Always nervous Pervis Ellison (1989 Sacto)...great college player...horrible NBA player...him and Chris Washburn (circa 1986...3rd pick in the draft, Len Bias was #2).

Great Washburn story...When playing for NC State, he was caught stealing a stereo, he was sentenced to 46 hours in jail, a 5-year suspended prison term and 5 years probation. During his trial, the district attorney introduced as evidence Washburn's SAT scores, which were below 500 (out of 1600, with 400 being the starting score).

Washburn said that "The coaches over there told me, ‘You already signed, you’re already in school, you just have to take the test just to get into college." When they told him it didn’t matter what score he got, he said that he went in for about 22 minutes and he just marked down the answers…mark, mark, mark."

SIMPLY BRILLIANT!

Washburn had more failed drug tests (3), then he had combined playing time in the NBA (2 1/2 seasons).

BLB

Anthony Bennett

Total bust with the #1 pick by the Cavs

Kinda surprised this guy didn't get more votes. It wasn't just that he was bust but the Cavs were the only team on the planet dumb enough to think of this guy at the time as a #1 pick.
