Question Biggest Self-destruct stories in sports?

(Inspired by the other current threads about "best to not win a title" and "biggest blow to a franchise.")

For some reason, I always think about Theo Fleury when I think of self-destructing.

Spent most of the money he ever made on drugs, alcohol, and gambling. Says he failed 13 drug tests when he was with the Rangers. Had a gun in his mouth, ready to pull the trigger.

I still don't know how he scored over 1,000 points while he was such a mess all the time. His 3 short-handed goals in one game is still a record.

Without the drugs, he probably could have had at least 5 more good NHL seasons and another 500 career points, maybe 10 good years from 98 to 08 if he'd never left Calgary.

Tiger Woods and Big Ben look like they're currently trying self-destruction on for size.

He's made a comeback now, but Josh Hamilton -- from #1 pick to crack addict.
